Ecoflow Titan Extra Batteries

FAQ:

Why choose TITAN + SHP10 over a traditional home battery system?

TITAN + SHP10 matches the performance of mainstream installed home batteries while eliminating their biggest drawbacks: high upfront cost, opaque installation pricing, and expensive long-term maintenance.
a. Traditional home storage has flaws that can't be fixed. Installed battery systems typically require a five-figure upfront investment (solar-bundled projects can exceed over $30,000), quotes vary widely and rarely show what you're paying for, and a fixed installation means every expansion, relocation, or service visit adds another bill.
b. TITAN delivers home-battery-class performance. The TITAN Plus outputs 7,200–10,000W and accepts up to 8kW of solar input — enough to run most household appliances during an outage while maximizing everyday savings on your electricity bill.
c. DIY design cuts cost, time, and upkeep. Start from 5kWh and scale up to 30kWh as your needs grow — no over-buying on day one. Installation cost and time drop dramatically versus a fixed system, and because the system is modular and movable, maintenance, upgrades, and even moving house stay inexpensive. Paired with the SHP10 smart panel, TITAN delivers automatic whole-home backup without backfeeding the grid — so permitting is simpler and faster, and in some states not required at all.

How does TITAN compare with the EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra and DELTA Pro Ultra X?
All three are whole-home backup systems; the difference is scale. TITAN is the balanced choice for most households: 5kWh per unit, expandable to 30kWh, with 4kW to 7.2kW of output depending on the model, and it pairs with Smart Home Panel 10 to back up the circuits a typical home relies on. DELTA Pro Ultra is built for heavier backup needs, with 6kWh per unit, 12 smart circuits and the ability to scale up to 90kWh and 21.6kW by paralleling units, which makes it a better fit for outage-prone areas. DELTA Pro Ultra X is EcoFlow's flagship, scaling from 12kW to 36kW of output and 12kWh to 180kWh of capacity for maximum backup and savings headroom.

Which model is right for me: TITAN Classic, TITAN, or TITAN Plus?
TITAN Classic covers the essentials: its built-in 5kWh battery backs up 120V devices such as your refrigerator, lights, Wi-Fi and computers. TITAN adds 120V/240V split-phase output (7.2kW) and 4kW of solar input, so it can run compatible 240V appliances, including some 3-ton central air conditioners. TITAN Plus goes further with up to 8kW of solar across two inputs, more power per 120V leg and up to 10kW of output when solar and battery work together. All three start at 5kWh and can be expanded later.

Is TITAN still worth it if I don't have solar?
Yes. TITAN charges from the grid, so it can sit fully charged and ready for an outage, and you can add compatible solar panels later. If your utility uses time-of-use rates, a properly connected TITAN can also charge when electricity is cheap and power your home when it is expensive. On a flat-rate plan, its main value is backup protection.

Can I start with one TITAN and add batteries later?
Yes. Every TITAN main unit includes a 5kWh battery and accepts up to five TITAN Battery 5kWh expansion packs, for a maximum of 30kWh. Start with what you need today and add capacity as your needs grow. Expansion batteries need the matching connection cable (sold separately). Adding batteries extends runtime but does not raise the unit's rated output power.

Can I use TITAN on its own? What does the Smart Home Panel 10 add?
Yes. You can plug appliances straight into TITAN's outlets. Adding Smart Home Panel 10 (SHP10) links TITAN to up to 10 selected home circuits for automatic backup and circuit-level control. You can begin with direct plug-in use and move to a home-integrated setup whenever you're ready.

Why is TITAN easier to install than a traditional home battery? Can it lower labor costs?
Much of the work is done before the system reaches your home. TITAN is an all-in-one floor-standing unit, and SHP10 comes with breakers, monitoring and pre-wired connections built in, so your installer sources fewer parts and does less wiring and assembly on site. Less on-site work usually means a quicker install and lower labor costs, although the final price depends on your home and your installer's quote.

Can I install TITAN myself or hire my own electrician?
Using TITAN as a standalone unit with plugged-in appliances is a simple self-setup following the product guide. Wiring the Smart Home Panel 10 into your home's electrical system must be done by a qualified, licensed electrician, and you're free to hire your own local installer.

Will TITAN switch to backup power automatically during an outage?
Yes. Once installed with SHP10 and powered on, the system switches your connected backup circuits to battery power within 20ms of a grid failure, with nothing for you to do. Used on its own with appliances plugged in directly, TITAN's EPS function switches over within 10ms.

How can I recharge TITAN during a long outage?
Connect solar panels directly to TITAN's solar input (within its input specifications), or charge it from an EcoFlow or third-party generator using the included AC charging cable. Note that a standard grid-tied rooftop solar system shuts off during outages for safety (anti-islanding), so it can't charge TITAN through that connection; for outage charging, use panels wired directly to TITAN.

Do I need to manage charging and discharging every day?
No. In the EcoFlow app you set your daily strategy and self-consumption level once, and the system balances solar, battery and household demand automatically. Storm Mode can also top the battery up to 100% ahead of a detected severe-weather event so you're ready for a possible outage.

Is TITAN safe to use inside my home or garage?
Yes. TITAN uses thermally stable lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, a battery management system and multiple electrical protections. TITAN main units are certified to UL 2743, UL 1973 and UL 9540, and the TITAN Battery 5kWh to UL 1973. Place it in a dry, ventilated indoor space (home or garage) within the specified temperature range.

How quiet is TITAN?
Very. In EcoFlow testing at 77°F (25°C), measured from 3.3 ft (1 m), TITAN Classic stays under 30dB at 2,000W of output. Actual noise varies with load and cooling needs.

What warranty comes with the TITAN system?
The TITAN main unit, the TITAN Battery 5kWh and the Smart Home Panel 10 are each covered by a 5-year warranty. See EcoFlow's official warranty policy for full details.
